About Author – Dale Clark
I’m Dale Clark, Regional Human Resources Manager at Dollar Tree Stores. I work in retail human resources and focus on helping associates, managers, and store teams better understand workplace systems, HR processes, and day-to-day employee support tools. With years of experience in retail operations and human resources, I understand the practical issues employees face, from onboarding and training to compliance, performance concerns, and workforce planning.
My goal is to make HR-related topics easier to understand through clear, direct, and useful guidance. I believe employees and store leaders benefit most when information is explained in simple steps instead of complicated corporate language. Whether the topic is associate training, HR policies, performance management, onboarding, wage analysis, or employee support systems, I focus on guidance that is practical and easy to follow.

Academic Background & Professional Qualifications
I earned a double Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University, with one degree in Human Resources Management and Services and another in Marketing with an emphasis on consumer behavior. This academic background helped me build a strong foundation in people management, workplace behavior, employee support, and business decision-making.
My education, combined with years of hands-on leadership experience, has shaped the way I approach HR in the retail industry. I focus on balancing business needs with employee development, compliance standards, and practical solutions that support both store operations and associate success.

Professional Experience
I currently serve as Regional Human Resources Manager at Dollar Tree Stores, a role I have held since August 2020. In this position, I support HR operations in a fast-paced retail environment and work across areas such as associate engagement, labor relations, onboarding, training, performance management, compliance, HRIS, and workforce planning.
Before joining Dollar Tree Stores, I worked at Kroger as Human Resources Manager from January 2012 to October 2019 in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. In that role, I supported training and development across three Kroger districts and worked closely with store managers on hiring, onboarding, disciplinary guidance, compliance with state and federal laws, wage and hour reporting, I-9 and E-Verify processes, staffing, career path planning, pay and bonus analysis, district training classes, hiring events, and community involvement programs.
Earlier in my career, I served as Store Manager at Kroger from October 2001 to October 2011. During those ten years, I led retail store operations with responsibilities across operations, merchandising, budgeting, hiring, training, associate development, and team leadership. That experience gave me a strong understanding of the day-to-day realities store teams face and the importance of clear leadership and people-focused support.
